Worship Services

Regular worship services are held every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. They are traditional Presbyterian services with prayers, hymns, bible readings and a sermon.

The music is generally traditional but with a modern touch and occasionally something different.
Sunday services generally follow the Christian Church calendar: Advent with its weeks of preparations culminating in Christmas, the six-week period of Lent leading to Easter Day, the Pentecost period, etc. Some worship services have a further theme such as baptism, an annual Scouts and Guides service, Remembrance Day and others.

Special services include Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Christmas Day, weddings, funerals etc. Adult baptisms for those who were not baptized as children may be conducted in a private ceremony if wished.

BEPC holds alternative worship services as a means of reaching out to others in the community: a Celebration of Lives Lived, a 70’s Jesus People Music Concert, a Vacation Bible School for the community and Songs of Praise sing-alongs.

Rides to and from church can arranged.

A nursery is provided for babies and children aged two and under.

Children remain in the sanctuary for the first part of the service, during which the minister invites the children up for a short story and prayer before the children go to Sunday School. After the service, everyone is welcome for light refreshments and fellowship.

Sample calendars show services held over past months.
